Theaters, Sony, and Paramount Cave to Terrorists and Cyberbullies & Why that’s Bad

interview_xlgIn what can only be described as stupidity and cowardice, national theater chains including AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and Cineplex, and eventually Sony Pictures Entertainment have pulled the December 25th release of The Interview. For those who might not know, The Interview is a film starring Seth Rogen and James Franco that has them traveling to North Korea to interview Kim Jong Un, and are tasked to kill the leader. The country didn’t take the comedy too lightly, and instead North Korea (likely, it’s hard to verify) waged a cyber-war against Sony in retaliation.

That cyber attack proved an embarrassment for the American subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate. Sensitive documents were released, and have been fodder for sites over the past week. RTA Offering Service in Downtown Cleveland on New Year’s Eve

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) – The Greater Cleveland RTA will be offering round-the clock rail service overnight from Dec. 31 until Jan. 1 to make it more convenient for customers to attend New Year’s Eve events.

All RTA facilities will be open, including customer service at (216) 621-9500.

Several NYE activities include the “Cleveland Rocks NYE” event on Mall B from 10 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Gates open at 8 p.m. and admission is $10.

Ferguson Police Spokesman Suspended For Calling Michael Brown Memorial Site “A Pile Of Trash”

The Ferguson Police Department suspended a spokesman for calling slain teen Michael Brown‘s memorial site, “a pile of trash”. According to The Associated Press, the city didn’t identify the name of the officer who made the crude remark, when they gave The Washington Post a statement. The newspaper did however learn the comments was made by Officer Tim Zoll, after they contacted the police department to gain information about the destroyed memorial site. On Christmas night, the memorial site where Brown was killed by former police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9 was destroyed after a car apparently ran over it.

The Post contacted the Ferguson Police Department to get a comment about the incident where Zoll said:

I don’t know that a crime has occurred. But a pile of trash in the middle of the street? That Washington Post is making a call over this?

Vin Diesel Teases Involvement In Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ Movie

When Vin Diesel steps to the microphone to do voiceover work, he tends to play characters with very limited vocabularies (The Iron Giant, Guardians of the Galaxy), and it’s looking like he may be adding another one to his resumé soon.

Diesel changed his cover photo on Facebook Sunday morning to one that poses the question “Are You Inhuman?,” with Diesel himself wearing an Inhumans tank top. Diesel’s been working closely with Marvel Studios ever since providing mo-cap/voiceover work for Groot in the summer smash hit Guardians of the Galaxy, and it’s been heavily rumored that he’ll be involved in the “Inhumans” film as well, possibly as the Inhumans’ leader Black Bolt.

The Inhumans are an offshoot of humanity that was created by the alien race known as the Kree. Their unique genetic makeup among other Earthlings allots them powers. Members of the group include…

Prominent Ferguson Protestor, Joshua Williams Arrested For Allegedly Setting Store On Fire

After the murder of 18-year-old Antonio Martin, which was eerily similar to that of Michael Brown, volatile protests stormed the Ferguson area, and now 19-year-old Joshua Williams, a peaceful Missouri activist has been arrested for allegedly trying to set a convenience store on fire during Martin unrest.

The news comes as a shock to local protestors, many of whom had previously joined Williams in the movement against police brutality. Bishop Derrick Robinson of the Kingdom Destiny Fellowship shared with the local media that the crime seemed out of character for him: “Josh is one of the young activists, and all of us have taken close to him. We got to know his heart.” The store was in Berkeley, a town near Ferguson, and allegedly, Williams confessed to the arson on videotape during an interrogation.

Study: 6 Million White Americans Have Some African Ancestry

According to a new study, six million Americans who classify themselves as White have some African ancestry. For the study, which was conducted by the American Journal of Human Genetics, researchers looked at records of individuals using the genetic testing service 23andMe.com who identified as European, African and Latino descent. They deduced that 3.5 percent of White Americans have 1 percent or more African ancestry. Whites from the south are more likely to have African ancestry than Whites from other regions. ?European Americans with African ancestry comprise as much as 12% of European Americans from Louisiana and South Carolina and about 1 in 10 individuals in other parts of the South,? according to the study. Giants’ Quarterback Coach Leaves For Nebraska

For the third time in as many years, New York Giants franchise quarterback Eli Manning will have a new quarterback coach.

Their current coach Danny Langsdorf, who was hired at the start of this season, has announced he will depart from New York to become Nebraska’s offensive coordinator at the college level.

Langsdorf has previous experience as an offensive coordinator at Oregon State from 2005-2010. He is one of the best coaches to ever coach at Oregon State, as four of the teams top eight yardage totals per season has fallen under his tenure.

The quarterback coach works with the quarterback very closely, working on throwing motions and other techniques to better the quarterbacks game. Langsdorf did an excellent job with the Giants this season, as Eli Manning had one of the best statistical seasons of his career, cutting down on his turnovers and surpassing 4,300 yards and 30 touchdowns.
