Monday’s game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers got a little heated. With 3:23 left in the fourth quarter, a timeout was called. As Kevin Garnett walked to the Wolves’ bench and Austin Rivers walked to the Clippers’ bench, the Clippers’ guard bumped into Garnett, refusing to deviate from his path. That caused an exchange of words between Rivers and Garnett and a double technical foul was called. That wasn’t the end of the chippiness though.
With 1:06 left in the game, Wolves’ coach Flip Saunders was complaining to the refs about a foul that wasn’t called in favor of Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins had been hit on the arm by Spencer Hawes, but it was credited as a blocked shot. Saunders was vehemently arguing the play during the next dead ball, following a foul called on Garnett.
