RMU Falls To LIU Brooklyn Twice In 7 Days

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — LIU Brooklyn defeated Robert Morris University at the Sewall Center 63-62 in a heated matchup that resulted in the Colonials’ second loss to the Blackbirds in seven days.

Star forward Lucky Jones was forced to sit out of the 72-65 loss on Feb. 5 due to a concussion and his return was expected to make a difference in the rematch at the Sewall Center. Jones did score 12 points and pulled down six rebounds but it still wasn’t enough.

The loss weakened the Colonials record to 12-13 overall and 8-5 in the NEC. LIU Brooklyn improved its record to 11-13 overall and 7-6 in the NEC.

LIU Brooklyn was led by redshirt freshman Nura Zanna with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Zanna is the brother of former Pitt basketball star, Talib Zanna.
