Thousands of New England Patriots fans braved the cold and snow to cheer on the Super Bowl Champions as they were paraded through the streets Wednesday atop Boston’s famous duck boats.
Undeterred by transportation hassles caused by the recent snowstorms, the crowd was large, enthusiastic and triumphant, according to the Boston Globe.
Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler, the relatively unknown player who made the game-winning end zone interception, was aboard one of the first duck boats as it approached Copley Square. Bystanders appeared unsure if was actually him, but thrills and cheers rippled through the crowd after one fan yelled “There’s the guy who won the game! There’s the guy who won the game!”
Red, white and blue confetti fell over the parade “as thick as the blizzard that hit the city last week,” the Globe said.
