Former leader of Death Row records and rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has been charged with murder and attempted murder after he allegedly ran over two people, killing one, following an argument in Compton last week, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
The official charges come hours after Knight’s $2.2 million bail was revoked. Knight, 49, is currently being held without bail, as he was deemed a flight risk.
The incident occurred last Thursday at a promotional shoot for the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton when, following an altercation, Knight allegedly ran over two men standing in the parking lot with his truck. One of the men — actor Terry Carter — was killed, and the driver fled the scene.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Division is currently investigating the case.
