The cast of the forthcoming all-femaleGhostbusters remake has been revealed…and it’s awesome!
Rumors have been flying for months about which of Hollywood’s funniest women would make the cut, and The Hollywood Reporter announced today (January 27) that the highly-anticipated film will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
The reboot will be directed by Paul Feig, who worked with McCarthy and Wiig on the hit film Bridesmaids, and he confirmed the awesome news through Twitter this afternoon:
While McCarthy and Wiig had early ties to the project, Jones and McKinnon (both currently on SNL) definitely come as a welcomed surprise.
And though original Bill Murray has not signed on to reprise his role as Dr. Peter Venkman, he did correctly predict two of the movie’s stars back in the fall.
