THE BRONX (PIX11) – A teen accused of violently attacking and robbing a mother while she was carrying her infant in the Bronx faces multiple felony charges.
Alonzo Brown, 18, was arraigned Thursday on two felony robbery charges and a felony grand larceny charge, along with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
Police say Brown delivered a vicious “flying drop kick” into the mother’s back as she walked along East Tremont Avenue with her 3-month-old strapped to her chest.
Surveillance clearly shows a man following the 24-year-old just after noon on Nov. 28 before taking a running start, vaulting in the air and sending the woman flying face-first into the concrete, landing on top of the child.
Brown allegedly stole her cell phone as she lay on the ground.
The woman and child were taken to a hospital, treated and released.
