Ex-Patriot Adam Vinatieri Sets NFL Record For Most Career Playoff Games

Adam Vinatieri’s milestones keep piling up.

Vinatieri set an NFL record Sunday by appearing in his 30th career playoff game. The Colts kicker had been tied with legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice before missing a field goal in the first quarter of Indianapolis’ AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

Vinatieri, of course, spent 10 seasons with New England before signing with Indianapolis prior to the 2006 season. The 42-year-old appeared in 17 playoff games with the Patriots and has since appeared in 13 more with the Colts.

Vinatieri, a three-time Pro Bowl pick, has collected four Super Bowl rings — three with New England, one with Indianapolis — over the course of his 19-year NFL career.
