MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Champlin man has been sentenced to just over 14 years in prison for stabbing the mother of his children.
The victim told police Robert Siegfried texted her to pick up their children. She said when she arrived, he stabbed her repeatedly.
When police arrived they found Siegfriend had tried to hang himself.
On charges of first-degree attempted murder, Siegfried will also have to pay a fine of $3,000 in addition to time served.
Because of the injuries and the trauma the victim sustained, she had to shut down her home daycare and has thus been without income. A benefit will be held this weekend in Champlin.
